Bluebirds boss David Dunn believes Barrow can cause high-flying Cambridge problems today.

The Bluebirds head to the Abbey Stadium hoping to upset the second-placed team in League Two.

Cambridge have yet to lose at home and boast the division’s player of the month in frontman Paul Mullin.

Dunn admits his side face a tough test but says AFC are in positive mood.

He said: “Cambridge have so far been excellent, we’ve watched them quite a bit, they’re flying high, and they’ve got some really good strikers who’ve scored goals.

“I’ve been impressed with them so far, but, if we’re right and at it, I feel we can give them problems.

“They play a little bit different to us but have good energy, some good footballers and are capable of making the opposition make clumsy tackles or little errors; we’ve got to be careful that we don’t do that.

“They’re at the top end of the league for a reason so we’ve got to be right at it.”

Dunn is likely to change his team today having made nine alterations for Tuesday’s Papa John’s Trophy defeat to Accrington.

Fit-again Scott Quigley will be in the frame for more action having returned for 70 minutes against Stanley. Dunn added: “We’re getting some back.

“Kgosi Ntlhe is back, and the likes of Tom Beadling, Lewis Hardcastle and James Jones aren’t a million miles away.

“We’re looking in good nick, we’ve got a good squad and competition for places.”

Barrow, currently 18th, are hoping to further climb the League Two table today after recent wins against Mansfield and Bradford.

Dunn says it is important they continue to consolidate performances with results.

“Whichever players we put out there I feel we’re really competitive in every game we play, and we’ve been unfortunate not to pick more points up,” he said.

“I’ve been sick to death of talking to other managers after games and them saying what a good team we are, the best they’ve played and stuff like that…but we’ve got beat against them.

“We have to make sure we back our performances up with wins.”
