A date has been confirmed for Barrow AFC’s rearranged FA Cup First Round tie against AFC Wimbledon - adding to a hectic run of games for the Bluebirds.

David Dunn’s side will now host the Dons on Thursday, November 26 (7.45pm kick-off).

The original tie, scheduled for last Saturday, was postponed after a number of positive Covid-19 tests in the visiting ranks.

The rearranged date means Barrow face three games in six days at the Progression Solicitors Stadium, with league games against Forest Green and Oldham coming on the Saturday and Tuesday before the Wimbledon tie.

If they get past the Dons, they will host Crawley Town the following Sunday in the Second Round - with another midweek league game then to follow for Dunn’s men at Morecambe.

Wimbledon have also been forced to postpone their scheduled League One game against Wigan this weekend as players and staff self-isolate following the Covid-19 outbreak at the south London club.

AFC boss Dunn, meanwhile, said the need to manage his squad carefully was behind his decision to make nine changes for Tuesday’s Papa John’s Trophy game against Accrington.

“I feel we’re going to have a real tough schedule coming up,” he said.

“It could be that we’re looking at playing five games in 12 games, and we needed to get lads up to speed.”
