Harrogate Town boss Simon Weaver anticipates a good footballing contest against David Dunn’s Barrow today.

The Bluebirds’ opponents are buoyant after a victory at Bradford on Monday but are not taking AFC for granted.

Manager Weaver said: “It will be another big occasion and it should be a really good contest.

“Barrow can knock it about as well and we could be in for another cracking game of football, just like at Bradford the other night.”

Weaver says it will be “special” to be back at Harrogate’s home ground after playing recent home games at Doncaster.

The Town boss is looking forward to seeing his side playing on their new grass pitch.

“We’re really looking forward to it because it’s felt like so long since we played at our own stadium,” he added to the Harrogate Advertiser.

“Playing at Doncaster has been okay, but you don’t half miss being in Harrogate, getting your home comforts in your own ground, your own changing rooms. It will be brilliant.

“The grass is new of course, but it’s knitting together nicely, it looks great and that tight pitch will suit how we play.

“We can’t wait to be back playing in Harrogate, but it’s so disappointing the thought of being back home but without the fans alongside us.” Harrogate won 3-0 at Holker Street in their last meeting, with March’s return match shelved due to Covid-19.
