Bobby Burns became the second Barrow AFC player to be sent out on loan after the left-sided player joined Glentoran.

The 20-year-old summer signing has linked up with the Irish Premiership side after finding first-team opportunities hard to come by early in his Bluebirds career.

He has returned to Northern Ireland until January. His move follows Morgan Penfold’s temporary switch to FC United.

Burns said: “The Glens clearly have a really good plan going forward so I’m really happy to be part of it.”

Burns worked with Glentoran No2 Paul Millar, during his time at Glenavon. Penfold started as FC United earned a 2-1 FA Cup victory at Curzon Ashton on Saturday.
