Local boy Perry Singleton has parted company with Barrow Raiders.

Singleton leaves Craven Park and this follows the exit of Lee Jewitt earlier in the summer.

Singleton, brother of former Leeds and Toronto forward Brad came through the ranks of at Barrow Island, gaining international amateur honours with BARLA.

He has now gone back up the coast to Workington where he had a couple of successful seasons where he became a fans favourite.

Raiders Coach Paul Crarey said: "Perry spoke to rugby director Andy Gaffney about his release as he wished to go back to Workington.

"We gave him the all clear and he is back with them and we wish him all the best with Workington

"Competition is hotting up for places with the addition to an already strong squad in Ben Harrison, Adam Walne and Shaun Lunt.

"Places will have to be earned with no player guaranteed a starting shirt as we look forward to next season in league one which will be a tough competition.

"Perry leaves a hole in the centre position but players can step up, Mark Tyson came in at the start of the 2020 campaign and he is a centre who can also play at half back.

"Then we have Dec Hulme and a promising Adam Ford.”

"Players come and go so you just get on with it and go with what you have and I am pleased with the squad at present.”
