Barrow Raiders skipper Jarrad Stack has become the latest of last season's squad to sign a new deal at Craven Park.

The former Workington Town second row, who became the Barrow captain last season, has penned a new two deal at the club, and joins the likes of Jordan Walne and Carl Forster in committing for next season.

Rugby director Andy Gaffney was delighted to get the side's leader tied down for the next two years.

He said: "For us this was a key deal to get done, with Jarrad being our captain.

"It is great to have him re-signed for us.

"He's a great player and has been a great leader for the club.

"He was one of the key players we wanted to get signed on ahead of what we think will be a big push for promotion next season.

"He brings that experience as well which we are going to need in the side going forward."

A number of players have now committed their futures to the Craven Park side, alongside signings such as Adam Walne and Shaune Lunt.

Gaffney confirmed more players will hopefully be penning new deals in the coming days and weeks.

He added: "We're still working with players to tie up ends of deals, and we want to get them sorted in the coming weeks and then moving on to getting the lads back in some sort of training after that, and looking to pre-season."
