They might not be able to gather in the stands to watch their sides Carabao Cup tie with Derby County - but some Barrow AFC fans will have the chance to come together for the game.

David Dunn's side travel to Pride Park to take on the Championship giants in the first competitive game of the new season on September 5.

The game will be televised live on Sky Sports, and with fans still barred from stadiums in the UK, the club is opening up rooms at Holker Street so fans can watch the game together on TV.

Social distancing measures will be in place and fans will have to contact the club to book tables, with groups of three and six able to pre-book a the moment.

A statement on the club website said: "Larger groups are likely to be seated in the corporate rooms, though this has not yet been decided and will be dictated by demand.

"Further information will be available as plans for the event mature in the coming days.

"We look forward to welcoming everybody back to the Cross Bar to share in the Bluebirds’ historic fixture, which will also be the first English domestic football of the new season aired live."
