Barrow AFC's pre-season campaign will be ramped up on Tuesday when they face League One side Blackpool in a friendly.

David Dunn's men will be facing Holker Old Boys today - their first game since the players returned for pre-season training.

But they will face a significantly tougher test on Tuesday, when they travel to the Bloomfield Road outfit with ongoing improvements being made to the Holker Street sprinkler system.

It will be a stiff test for the Bluebirds and a chance for Dunn to check out his new signings against Football League opposition for the first time.

The game on Tuesday is set to kick off at 1pm and will be played behind closed doors due to the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions that are still in place.

However the game will be streamed live so Bluebirds fans will have the chance to check out the club's new acquisitions.

The pre-season friendly comes just months after new Barrow boss Dunn left the Tangerines to take up the manager's role at Holker Street.

He served as assistant manager to Blackpool boss Neil Critchley, but left in the summer to take over from Ian Evatt.

It will be a busy week for Barrow, with the club set to discover who they will face in the new league campaign on Friday.

The week will also see them find out who they will face in the opening rounds of the Carabao Cup and the EFL Trophy.
