Former Barrow AFC loanee Tom White has joined ex-Bluebirds manager Ian Evatt at Bolton Wanderers after signing for them on a season-long loan deal from Blackburn Rovers.

The 24-year-old midfielder played a big part in AFC's promotion from the National League last season after signing on loan from Rovers in November last year.

White made his debut under Evatt in the superb 3-0 victory at Notts County that first took Barrow to the top of the division and went on to play 20 times for Barrow, scoring twice, before the season was halted by the coronavirus pandemic.

Evatt originally tried to sign White following the 2018/19 season, in which he impressed with Gateshead and earned a call-up to the England C squad.

White said: “I’ve got a really good relationship with the gaffer. His record last year speaks for itself and it’s an honour that he’s asked me to come here with him because I know how good of a manager he is.”

Evatt added: “While Tom might not be a name known to our fans, I know him very well as I had him last year at Barrow. He is the complete midfield player who can run, pass, dribble and break up play."
