Barrow AFC have finally found out when their first season in the English Football League for 48 years will commence.

The EFL revealed on Friday afternoon that the 2020/21 campaigns for the Championship, League One and, most importantly, League Two will get under way on Saturday, September 12.

That means Bluebirds supporters will only have to wait another seven weeks until their team are in action in the fourth tier of English football for the first time since 1972.

The EFL have also confirmed that the regular season will end on May 8/9, 2021 and that the play-off finals would revert back to their regular Spring Bank Holiday slot at the end of May.

The league stated that "work is currently underway in respect of fixture scheduling and details will be announced in due course as to when full fixture lists for 2020/21 will be made available.”
