Barrow AFC have announced that Levi Gill will become the club's new chief executive officer.

Gill, who has been serving as the Bluebirds Trust's representative on the club's board since March 2019, will formally join AFC in his new role next month.

He will spend the next two weeks transitioning into his new position and coordinating the Bluebirds' ongoing process of reopening as coronavirus restrictions are eased.

Chairman Paul Hornby said: “Levi has made a real impression on the owners during his time representing the Bluebirds Trust on the club board.

"We knew that a return to the Football League would require a more full-time, professional approach to the club’s off-field operations and we were always keen to appoint locally if possible.

"In Levi, we are delighted to have somebody who knows the club and can hit the ground running as we continue through a busy period for Barrow AFC.”

Gill will step down from his role as Bluebirds Trust director, effective tomorrow, and will work in collaboration with the club's board as well as be responsible for all administrative and commercial activities at Holker Street.

Gill said: “I’m obviously incredibly honoured that the board have put their faith in me to take up this role. Last season exceeded all of our expectations and we now enter our first League Two campaign with a squad and a manager that we feel are both ‘EFL ready.'

"My job is to ensure that off-field we can reach that same level. There are countless new requirements set for our club by the EFL and I’m looking forward to ensuring that we meet these as well as delivering the best possible experience for our staff, our commercial partners and most importantly our fans.”
