When Barrow AFC supporters look back on the 2019/20 season, they will have a glut of thrilling games and great goals to choose from.

They'll wonder what would have become of the Bluebirds had goalkeeper Joel Dixon not preserved the three points at Aldershot by saving a stoppage time penalty to earn just a third win in ten games in the early part of the season.

By the time they travelled to Bromley in October, AFC had well and truly found their stride as goals by Dior Angus and Scott Quigley gave them a 2-1 win at the then league leaders, their sixth straight victory in a run of seven.

Six weeks later, they hit the front themselves by memorably dismantling Notts County 3-0 on their own patch.

The goals flowed for the next few months as Barrow struck four at Maidenhead before smashing seven past first Ebbsfleet United then FC United of Manchester on consecutive Saturdays in January.

There was then the day they showed the stuff of champions in their comeback victory against Torquay in front of a rapturous Holker Street, thanks to two fantastic goals by dangermen John Rooney and Scott Quigley.
