BARROW AFC’s supporters’ trust has spoken of the impact of the club’s promotion success, amid scenes of celebration in the town.
Steve Herbert, chair of the Bluebirds Trust, told The Mail that, despite AFC’s clear margin at the top of the National League, the news still appears something of a ‘miracle’.
“Ian Evatt and the players have created a miracle,” he said. “We’ve won it with style and flair and the whole club pulling in the right direction.”
Besides praising the players and team staff, Mr Herbert said the board also deserved plaudits.
“The board of directors have worked brilliantly with the fans, including through the trust.
“Amid the celebrations, we’ve all been thinking a lot about absent friends and family too from our support that didn’t see us end the forty-eight year exile.
“It’s for them too as well as those who have kept the faith for many years, in good times and bad.
“The Barrow support are second to none. We will go into League Two with no fear at all. “
