A 12 METRE Barrow Raiders banner to honour local key workers has been completed.

The rugby league club are using their advertising billboards outside Craven Park to highlight the hard work being done by those on the frontline during the coronavirus crisis.

The first banner was put up in April.

A post on the club’s Facebook page said: “Banner is up, some effort for 12 metres.

“Thank you to all our key workers.

“Thank you to Darren Fawcett and Lee Thistlethwaite for putting the banner up.”

The club had asked for donations towards the banner with any surplus going to good causes.

They said at the time: “We would love to see (on the banner) every key worker; store worker, bin collectors, everyone!

“We are all cogs in a machine working together to get through this!”

The banner has had positive feedback on social media from delighted Barrovians.

Janet Fischer said: “Brilliant tribute to all key workers, spotted your picture Molly-jo Fischer, one very proud mum.”

Graham Low said: “Brilliant photo, top effort from all key workers.

“Makes you proud to be a Barrovian.”

Danislava Petrova said: “This is absolutely amazing.”

And Karen Ann Bennett said: “It’s awesome.”
