We’ve had some tremendous coverage over the last few months as we’ve become less ‘under the radar’ and more in the public eye and it’s well deserved national recognition too.

We’ve had two articles in The Sunday Times and a tremendous piece of writing in ‘The Athletic’ - an online publication which also shares the article in video form on YouTube.

I would urge you, if you haven’t already, to seek the Athletic piece out as it goes right to the heart of the club’s current playing style without resulting in too many of the clichés which we all know and recognise from various brief moments in the sun.

At the last count we’ve had 144,000 viewings, comments from across the globe asking about our club and, alongside this, there have been some excellent interviews with Ian Evatt.

Then there was the Dover trip which caught the imagination of the football community, resulting in a number of extra articles and an opportunity for one young fan’s views to reach a national audience.

We seem to be as ubiquitous as the Barrow bobble hats which appear to be breaking all sales records in the club shop and are keeping our heads warm during our perfect storm.

One aspect of our increased media appearances is that they shine a light on how much support and goodwill we have, both at home and abroad.

Firstly, we have our regular exiled fans, who have been an integral and vital part of any away following ‘down south’, especially, for many a year.

This has been a wonderful season for us all. We’ve seen some difficult away days over the seasons and it’s great to enjoy our top of the league status in front of the cameras.

Fervent online support from diehard fans in Texas was matched by a visitor to Gander Green Lane last Saturday from Turin. A gentleman from Sardinia was present, while a small group of Ayr United fans who seem to have adopted us have made plans online for Harrogate away.

One Facebook poster was enjoying watching the Bluebirds in downtown New York, while another recognised friends from uptown Perthshire.

Devotees of Twitter may have noticed Bundesliga giants Cologne tweeting good luck as their fans prepare to come over from Germany in the next few weeks.

All our Barrow family, far and near, new and old, will be willing us on, as we turn for home in this potentially historic season.
