After Storm Dennis put paid to all but one of our amateur football team's matches last week, clubs will be hoping to beat what is forecast to be further wet weather tomorrow.

That includes Furness Rovers, who have a tough test against Rossendale in the second round of the West Lancashire League Challenge Cup on the Training Pitch.

Holker Old Boys were the only team whose game survived last Saturday, but it didn't go to plan as they were beaten 3-0 at AFC Darwen and they'll be hoping to bounce back when they face Golcar United at Avro.

Several other teams are in cup action in the Furness Premier League, with Croftlands Park heading to Lesh Lane to face Barrow Wanderers in the one remaining first round tie in the Paul Wilson Memorial Trophy.

There are three second round ties in the Horne Cup taking place, which see Bridge United go into their match at Croftlands Park reserves as favourites, Holker Old Boys A look to cause an upset against Soccer Bar and Crooklands Casuals reserves welcome Ulverston Rangers reserves.

Back in the West Lancs League, Vickerstown have the daunting task of an away trip to Premier Division leaders Fulwood Amateurs.

In Division One, Millom will travel across south Cumbria to face Kendal County, while Ulverston Rangers will look to make up ground when they host fellow strugglers Eagley.
