Following last week’s postponement, Barrow Raiders finally got their 2020 season under way yesterday as they moved into the fourth round of the Coral Challenge Cup with a 38-18 victory against London Skolars.
The onslaught of Storm Dennis led to fears that the third round tie would be called off for a second time, but the pitch at Craven Park absorbing the battering of rain it took and was perfectly playable by the morning of the game.
It ultimately proved to be the ideal start to the campaign for Paul Crarey’s side, as they booked a trip to Featherstone Rovers in found four, and it was also a supporter’s lucky day, as one of the 769 who attended has won our first Face in the Crowd competition of the year
