The Barrow & District League will kick off its 2020 season with a new-look Frank Reid Cup, which will now be played as a six-a-side competition across next month.

All eight amateur clubs from the Furness area will be involved in the competition, which was previously a 13-a-side straight knock-out between the teams in the league but will now be played across four Fridays on two pitches at Askam's Fallowfield Park.

All four rounds will begin at 6:30pm, with matches also kicking off at 7pm, 7:30pm and 8pm, with each game lasting 20 minutes, across two halves.

The first round of matches will take place on Friday, March 6, with hosts Askam facing Walney Central and Barrow Island coming up against Ulverston to kick things off.

Once each team has faced one another, the top four will qualify for the semi-finals, which will take place on March 27, as will the final, which kicks off at 8pm, with Dalton starting off as the holders.
