It was crunch time at the Roose Cons Club as the Navy Club needed a win to keep them in joint position at the top of the darts table in the Barrow Friday League.

They managed six good wins with captain Ian Large (100) leading the way with a win over Nick Wilkes.

The other wins came from Ian Goodwin (100) beating Rob Chissim, Dave Rafferty, Dave Simpson, Andy Charnley (123, 100) and Dave Wilkie. Nick Wilkes (100) took the only home point in beating Joe O’Leary despite his opponent having two ton scores in his game.

Top side British Legion A kept their place as joint leaders with a 5-2 win over the Barrow Football Supporters Club, with wins for captain Shaun McPoland (130, 125), Bill Bowes (138), Dave Simpson, Tony Macmillan and Mala McCoy.

Stuart Culbert (117) and Barry Butterworth took the home points and there were good scores in losing efforts from Denis Plant (140), Steve Martin (135) and Mike Yorke (115).

Vickerstown Cricket Club came out the better on the away board against the British Legion, claiming a 5-2 win. Gareth Willis took the top man’s game with 140,135 and 99 scores against Allan Edmondson in winning 601-359.

He was backed up with wins from Brian Tucker, Lee Jefferson (with a 78 knock up), David Holmes (108) and Peter Scott, with the home teams wins coming from Tony Norman and Dave Roberts.
