Barrow's Liam Livingstone was out cheaply as Perth Scorchers crashed to an eight-wicket defeat against Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League at the Optus Stadium.

The Scorchers endured a 14-hour journey back to Perth from their match at Hobart Hurricanes and this seemed to have an impact as they were bowled out for just 86 in 13.5 overs.

Livingstone perished on four when he launched Seb Coulter-Nile to Marcus Stoinis at deep midwicket and only Josh Inglis' 37 off 19 balls provided any resistance, as Jackson Coleman took 3-16 for the Stars.

The league leaders easily chased down their small target with eight overs to spare, thanks to 39 not out from Stoinis.
