It’s derby day at Wilson Park this afternoon, as Millom take on Hawcoat Park in Cumbria Division One, which clicks back into gear after the break for Christmas.

Millom will be looking to their powerful forwards in order to get a result, with skipper Trevor Dixon aiming to take the bull by the horns, while Ian Cummings is likely to be pivotal.

Callum Lamont is likely to be in the front three alongside Keiron and Luke Coulson, looking to push on at the breakdown. Matty Jordan and Jay Laydon will have Danny Redhead for company in a great-looking back row.

Robbie Pattinson at scrum-half will get ball away to half-back partner, in the guise of either Ryan Carter or Chris Park, looking to get the backs away, with Sy Robertson and Mike Kirkham keen for plenty of ball.

Hawcoat will be hopeful of no further injuries after loosing Callum Ramsey in the New Year’s Day charity game between Furness and Orsted.

Andy Kent, Adam Grainger and Colin Niven are the front three looking to contain Millom, with John Donnan and Lee Van Haren in the second row.

Grady Slater returns in the back row with Jack Ostin and Alfie White. Jack Shannon and Will Coles are likely to be the half-backs looking for clean ball to get centres Chris Burns and Jack Sutherland up and away.

Glenn Kaighan and Benji Platt are the wide men with Lewis Sayle at full back. A strong bench is to be confirmed, but this could be a belter.

Millom began strongly at home this season, but suffered a heavy 55-5 loss against Whitehaven in the last game on their own patch, while the Maroon and Whites signed off before Christmas with a 10-7 win at home to high-flying Wigton.

Windermere welcome old foes Whitehaven to Dawes Meadow and consistency is the key for the Ambers after a difficult first half to the season.

Mere look unchanged in the main with Jamie Hardman, Luke Todd and Tyrone Alderson up front although Dan Harrison May well make an appearance at some point.

Skipper Jonny Benson will be looking for stability from his second rows Joe Longworth and Paul Mahler to give back rowers Gregg Meschino and Adam Hague a chance to put pressure on Whitehaven.

Regular half-backs Liam Mckinnon and Bertie Hodgson will look after distribution of ball to centre duo Damien Armstrong and Joe Williams, with wide men Moses Dawson and Liam Garnett always on hand to finish and full back Ben Gibson looking to get in on the action.
