Former Barrow Raiders star Ryan Fieldhouse has decided to retire from rugby league.
In an emotional statement posted on his Twitter account, Fieldhouse said: “I honestly don’t think I could have been at a better club this year.
“I am just sad I’ve had to end my career and not finish my time and repay Workington back for all the support on and off the field.”
Fieldhouse struggled with injuries last season after signing for Workington from the Raiders after the end of the 2018 campaign, following what was a successful three years at Craven Park.
Part of the Barrow side that won promotion to the Betfred Championship in 2017, Fieldhouse scored 38 tries in 79 appearances, having previously played for Halifax and Dewsbury Rams in his career.
