Perth Scorchers lost by 15 runs against Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League, despite Barrovian Liam Livingstone equalling their fastest-ever half-century in their ultimately unsuccessful ran chase.
In a match reduced to 18 overs per side due to rain, the Strikers posted an impressive 198-4, with opener Jake Weatherald smashing a fantastic 83 off 47 balls and wicketkeeper Alex Carey adding 55 off just 24 deliveries.
The Scorchers chase got off to fantastic start, with Livingstone racing past 50 in 21 balls as part of a opening stand worth 124 with Josh Inglis, who made 50 himself.
However, his dismissal for 69 off 26 deliveries sparked a collapse that saw the visitors finish short on 183-7.
