British Legion A still head the top of the darts table in the Barrow Friday League by two points after getting the better of Roose Cons, winning 6-1 on the away board, led by captain Shaun McPoland with a 121, followed up with a ton and a 99 score.

He was backed up with wins for Mike Yorke (92), Dave Macmillan (91), Bill Bowes (100), Dave Simpson (101), and Mala McCoy (91). Mike Irving (95) stopped the whitewash getting the better of Tony Macmillan (100), winning 601-571. Lee majors and Terry Chissim’s two 90-plus scores were not enough for a win.

Second-placed Navy Club were also on a high, taking nearly all of their games on the Legion board with wins for Dave Rafferty, Brian Linklater, Andy Charnley (140), Chris Kirkby (100) and Dave Wilkie (100, 95).

Colin Taylor, with a 79 knock up, saved grace for the home side with a win over Joe O’Leary. Due to time restraints, the game between Allan Edmondson and Dave Simpson will be played at a later date.

Barrow Football Supporters Club just had the edge at the oche with a 4-3 win over Vickerstown Cricket Club. Harry Bateman took the first game despite the Cricketers’ Gareth Willis having 100 and 120 scores.

Captain Mike Edwards (140, 100) took the second point and was backed up with wins from Tony Mason and Jimmy Christie. Brian Tucker, Lee Jefferson and David Holmes won for the hosts.
