Crooklands Casuals under-12 Oranges were big winners in the Barrow & District Junior Football League last Saturday as the league leaders defeated fellow challengers Holker Old Boys 6-1.

The visitors had the chance to move level on points with the Oranges if they won at Furness Academy, but the hosts gave a very good performance as they made it seven wins from seven league games.

Ethan Townson and Ashton Holt both scored twice in Furness Cavaliers' 10-0 thumping of Dalton United, with Kai McKenna, Cameron Trelore, Harrison Ross, Kyle Brennan and Harrison Shuttleworth also on target.

Kyle Riley scored all four goals as Millom Juniors edged past Crooklands Casuals Blacks 4-3, while Walney Island ran out 6-3 winners at Furness Rovers Knights.

Just one game survived the wet weather in the Under-14 Premiership and it went to the wire as Holker Old Boys Eagles recorded a 4-3 victory at Furness Cavaliers under-13s.

Millom Juniors Black were clear 8-1 winners against Dalton United under-13s in the Under-14 Championship, with Sam Fallows scoring four of their goals.

Leland Cole was on target twice for the hosts, while Jackson Evans and Callum Clews also struck, with Alex Hustings grabbing a consolation strike for Dalton.

All three games in the under-16 Premiership were postponed, but in the Championship, leaders Swarthmoor Colts maintained their 100 per cent record with a 12-1 hammering of Vickerstown under-15 Blues, for whom Jack Osman scored a consolation.

Crooklands Casuals remain hot on their heels and three points behind after a 5-1 victory away at Furness Rovers Royals, with Jack Sweeting's goal nowhere near enough for the hosts.

Holker Old Boys Stags have three wins from four games this season, with their 8-1 trouncing of Crooklands Casuals under-15s their latest triumph.
