Furness will be looking for better fortunes this afternoon, but they're set for a hard challenge, as the face top-of-the-table Cockermouth at the Strawberry Grounds in Cumbria Division One.

The Blues have been struggling with travelling numbers of late - something that every club is suffering with - and had to cancel their game at St Benedicts for the second time this season last week.

Things look more positive this week, however, as skipper Corne Els rallies his troops for this game, looking to Will Mallinson for inspiration in taking the team forward.

Matt Hall, Ben Hughes and Cam McClure look favourite for the front three shirt, with Iestyn Humphreys and Tez Nueto controlling the back division.

Joe Satterthwaite and Dale Lambton cross codes from Askam to take up the challenge, while other rugby league converts Jamie Knight, Josh Banham and Adam Nicholson have also thrown there hat into the ring.

Regulars Danny Speers, Jordan Ashton and Brad Williamson will look to steady things alongside Tyler Williamson, Dylan Birkett and Kieron Potter in behind the half-backs.

After a great 36-33 win at home last week in a re-arranged fixture against Egremont, Millom stay on home turf as they take on high-flying Whitehaven at Wilson Park.

With a good pack and pacey wingers, Millom can be a real handful at home, as several teams have already found out this season.

The back row is key, so Joe Laydon, Matty Jordan and Steve Rodgers could be the go-to individuals in the game.

Captain Keiron Coulson will drive the pack on with Ian Cummings never far from the action.

Steve Watson and Keiron Rogan will lead the front three with other pack members Joe Fisher, David Thompson and Luke Coulson all keen on a start.

Sy Robertson and Chris Park will want good clean ball from Robbie Pattinson and the pack in front of him, with John Falconer picking up the loose pieces from full back.

Steven Forster, Connor Penrith, Joe Sheard and Richard Preston are also looking to get minutes on the pitch, so with final selection to come, it will be interesting to see who gets the nod against Whitehaven, who are just five points off the top.
