Millom edged a thrilling encounter 36-33 against Egremont in Cumbria Division One last Saturday, putting a couple of tough weeks behind them.

The men from Wilson Park had struggled to put a team together in their previous two games, which had led to a rout at the hands of Upper Eden and them needing to borrow players off Silloth, where they had travelled to with only 11 players.

Robbie Pattinson was among their try scorers during the hosts' return to form and the bonus point win allowed them to consolidate their eighth place in the table.

Millom are on their own patch again this weekend, but they'll face a tough task in making it back-to-back wins as they'll be welcoming third-placed Whitehaven, who had last weekend off.

Unfortunately, so did Furness after their match against in-form St Benedicts was called off for the second time this season because they were unable to raise a team.

The same was true for Hawcoat Park A, who had to forfeit their away games at Fylde Vandals.

Windermere were the one team scheduled to sit last Saturday out and they will return to action refreshed at home to Egremont at Dawes Meadow this weekend.

Barrovian Ryan Shaw started at full back in Yorkshire Carnegie's Championship Cup match against London Scottish and kicked one conversion as his side were thrashed 53-14 at West Park, Leeds.
