Barrow Friday League darts leaders British Legion A lost out 4-3 on their home board against Vickerstown Cricket Club, even though they won the first three games.

The first game saw aggregate leader Mala McCoy using his experience to pull him through, as he hit a 105 along the way to beat Gareth Benson 601-551.

Dave Macmillan struggled on his double, but just managed to get the better of Jimmy Allen with the help of a 101 score.

Dave Simpson with, scores of 140 and 98, was too good for an out-of-form Peter Scott, while an excellent 112 knock up, assisted by a ton score, saw Gareth Willis take the top man’s game against Shaun McPoland (98).

Dave ‘Double 19’ Holmes, with a 93 score, claimed the scalp of Billy Bowes (95). Vickerstown captain Bob Crosthwaite (100) scored consistently coming down the board, but struggled a little on his double. His opponent Tony Macmillan could not find his range, however, and was well beaten 601-549.

In the decider, Brian Tucker started off like a house on fire with three ton scores and remained in control to claim victory for the Cricketers against Michael Yorke (100), who lost his 100 per cent record.

Roose Cons just had the edge over the British Legion, winning a tight contest 4-3, with good wins for Lee Majors, Mike Irving, Rob Chissim and Terry Chissim.

Best for the visitors were Allan Edmondson, Colin Taylor and Legion’s captain Tony Woodward. The two high scorers from Bob Taylor (103) and Dave Roberts (101) were not enough to give them a win.

The Barrow Football Supporters Club lost out 4-3 away to the Navy Club. Joe O’Leary, Dave Rafferty, on form with 101 and a 111 knock up, Chris Kirkby and Dave Wilkie, with three good ton scores, were best for the home side.
