Barrow's Georgia Stanway came on as a substitute as Manchester City recorded their second straight 5-0 victory in the Women's Super League, at the expense of Bristol City.

Stanway was making her return from a one-match suspension, following her red card in what was 100th senior appearance for City against West Ham United the previous week.

The 20-year-old claimed an assist for the visitors' third goal - the first of a late double for Pauline Bremer - as her side won for the fourth game in a row, in all competitions.

City went ahead after 21 minutes in a mostly quiet first half at the Stoke Gifford Stadium when Tessa Wullaert brought down Janine Beckie's cross superbly before firing into the bottom corner.

Ellen White doubled the lead 20 minutes into the second half when she ran on to an excellent through ball by Keira Walsh before calmly passing the ball past Robins goalkeeper Sophie Baggaley.

Stanway was then brought on for Wullaert with a quarter of the game left before Ebony Salmon almost pulled a goal back for the hosts when she turned away from Beckie before drawing an excellent save from Ellie Roebuck.

City then began to pull away from their tiring opponents, as Stanway laid the ball off for Bremer and the German turned just inside the area before placing her shot in the bottom corner.

Caroline Weir was then given all kinds of time to advance on the Bristol City area before rifling in a superb low strike from 25 yards to make it 4-0 with two minutes left.

There was still time for Bremer to score her second when she ran through a gaping hole at the back before passing the ball into the net.
