The annual Barrow Interleague Match, which pits the Monday League against the Friday League will be taking place at the British Legion Club next Monday.

The match will be taking place for charity, with players from their respective leagues coming up against each other in a series of games in snooker, billiards, darts, welch don and crib, with the action getting under way at 7:15pm.

There will be five matches in each sport, with the exception of darts, which will have nine games on the bill at the Holker Street venue.

There will be a raffle and a tombola held during the event, while presentations will be made to two local charities, with St Mary’s Hospice receiving a cheque for £1,000 and £200 going towards Hospital Equipment Funds for Furness.

Spectators are invited to come along and support what is a worthwhile cause and a significant milestone in the fixture.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the first meeting of the two games leagues, which was held at the United Club in Barrow and in the intervening period, over £25,000 has been raised for various local charities.

The leagues would like to thank main sponsors the British Legion Club, Steve Gregory (Anixter Ltd), Steve Wilcock (Lakeland Leisure) and Norman and Sue Rhodes (Barrow Meat Market) for helping to make this year’s Interleague Match possible.
