Millom picked up their second win of the season in Cumbria Division One last Saturday, as they thrashed local rivals Furness 62-7 at Wilson Park.
The 'Battle of the Blues' wasn't too much of a contest in the end, as Millom produced a devastating performance against their admittedly weakened visitors, eventually running up a big scoreline.
The result has allowed them to leapfrog Furness in the table and into eighth, leaving them in a confident mood for this Saturday's game against Egremont, which is also at Wilson Park.
Egremont remain the only team Furness have defeated so far this season, in what has been a difficult start to the campaign in the newly-expanded division.
They are back on home turf at the weekend and their chances of bouncing back from their hiding are looking good as they will be up against bottom team Creighton.
Hawcoat Park A remain at the foot of the table in Division Four North of the North West Intermediate League, although their new-look team gave an improved display in their 40-29 defeat at home to Rossendale 3rd XV.
It was their fourth defeat in a row, although green shoots of recovery were apparent in this game after taking some heavy beatings in previous weeks.
They will be making the journey down to Tarleton 3rd XV this weekend as they look to finally get off the mark at the fifth time of asking.
