It’s the battle of the Blues as local rivals Millom and Furness lock horns at Wilson Park in Cumbria Division One this afternoon.

With Furness winning their first game of the season thanks to a last-gasp try from Phil Hayward against Egremont last week and Millom, to their credit, travelling short of numbers in their defeat Wigton last week, it must be the Strawberry Grounds outfit that will be favourites going into this clash - although a wounded Millom side is a dangerous one.

With both side yet to confirm selection, you could probably guess they will go strong into this, which will be a relief for Millom after having to travel with a depleted squad last time out.

You are likely to see Keiran Rogan, Steve Watson and Ian Cumming coming up against Furness’ Chris Dalton, Callum McClure and Corne Els in his new role as a front row workhorse.

Millom’s Joe Laydon and Matty Jordan will be key in the back row for the hosts, but they will be up against Will Mallinson and a couple of his friends, which could prove to be where the game is won or lost.

Adam Jackson was in superb form last time out against Egremont, so his battle at stand-off along Dave Finlayson and Robbie Pattison should make for a great spectacle as they pursue of the upper hand.

All in all, this will be a battle and a half with the team that wants it the most being the one that will ultimately win.
