Barrow's Aimee Everett could be set for international action on Wednesday afternoon after she was named in England's squad for their upcoming games in the first qualifying round for the UEFA Women's U19 Championship.

With Georgia Stanway ruled out of the senior Lionesses' squad with a hamstring injury, the town will still be represented in the international break with 18-year-old making the step up from under-17 level.

Everett moved to Women's Championship side Leicester City from Liverpool during the summer and she is joined in the 20-player squad by clubmates Annabel Blanchard, Simran Jhamat and Libby Smith.

England under-19s begin their first round of qualifying against Cyprus at 2pm tomorrow before taking on host nation Belarus on Saturday and rounding things off against Serbia next Tuesday.

The top two teams from each of the 12 groups and the four third-placed teams with the best record against the top two will progress to the elite round, which takes place next spring.

The eight teams to qualify from that will take part in the competition's finals in Georgia in July 2020. England reached the group stages of this year's edition.

It's been a tricky start for Everett in what is a very young Leicester side, who are tenth in the Championship after losing 2-1 against Crystal Palace last Sunday, which was their fourth defeat in five league games.
