There were some big scorelines in the Barrow & District Junior Football League last Saturday, not least of Dowdales School, where Hawcoat Park Minions under-12s went goal crazy at Dalton Juniors.

Visitors Hawcoat struck 13 times without reply against their outgunned opponents, although they were given a sterner test on Tuesday night at home to Holker Old Boys, as a 4-3 win maintained their 100 per cent record.

Their win at Dalton wasn't the largest margin of victory of the weekend in the under-12 division, as Crooklands Casuals Oranges ran out 17-0 winners at home to Furness Rovers Knights.

Before their defeat against the Minions, Holker had won 9-1 at Walney Island, with Furness Cavaliers able to see off Crooklands Casuals Blacks by a 3-1 scoreline.

Also amongst the midweek action, Furness Cavaliers Royals were too strong for Millom, who were defeated 12-1.

The biggest win of across all age groups came in the under-14 Premiership, where Hawcoat Park Dynamos, who are coming off the back of a stunning summer, defeated Ulverston Rangers under-13s, playing against a team with year's further development in the tank, 18-0.

Crooklands Casuals were another clear-cut winner as they swamped Swarthmoor 9-0 on their own patch, while in the Championship, Hawcoat Park Hawks almost matched their clubmates as they won 11-0 at home to Dalton Juniors under-13s,

There was one fixture in the under-16 Premiership and again the scoreline was pretty emphatic, as Vickerstown under-15s found the step up too much as Walney Island ran out 10-2 winners.

The scores weren't quite as dramatic in the Championship, but they were still pretty clear-cut nonetheless as Max Crowe scored a hat-trick for Crooklands Casuals in their 5-1 win over Vickerstown under-15 Blues.

Holker Old Boys Stags also had a good day as they defeated Crooklands Casuals under-15s 6-1.
