With kids aged five and over back in school, Ulverston Leisure Centre are still kept busy during the days by running sessions for toddlers in preschool.

Toddler Soccer is being run by the centre every Monday at 1:45pm and Tuesday at 11;10am, with each session lasting for half an hour.

They offer a mixture of games and practice basic football skills, such as throwing, catching, kicking, jumping and running. The cost for the session is £2.75 and there’s no need to book, with parents able to bring their tots on the day.

Meanwhile, Tots Dance sessions run every Thursday at 10:15-11am. It’s a fun session designed to engage little ones through dance and movement.

The cost for these sessions are £3.15 and just like those for Toddler Soccer, there is no need to pre-book.

Both sessions are for toddlers aged 2-4 years and run during term time only. Drinks and a biscuit are included after the conclusion of the sessions, but it is advised that in the winter the kids wear suitable clothing as it does get very cold in the tennis centre.

Active communities coordinator Hannah Paling said: “These sessions have been running a good few years now and have really taken off.

“The kids seem to love it, it’s great that they get to practice new skills as well as making friends and playing with other children. The adults love it just as much, whether its scoring a goal in football or dancing along to one of the songs.”
