A NEW female boxing charity event will be coming to the Ulverston area in the next few months, with women being challenged to channel their inner Katie Taylor or Nicola Adams.

Bad Ass Boxing will be taking place at a to-be-confirmed venue at the end of a nine-week training camp.

What ever your motivations are for taking part this is a great opportunity to join an event that will be fun, challenging, rewarding & give back to the local community.

A launch and sign-up party will take place tomorrow in the Loft at The Mill, Ulverston from 2-6pm.

The launch is an opportunity to find out further information and go into more detail around the fundraising, training camp and the event itself, which will be raising money for the Oncology Unit & St Mary's Hospice in Ulverston.

The nine-week training camp is due to commence on Monday, September 30 at Cumbria Strength & Conditioning in Dalton and is designed to focus on women from all walks of life in a supporting and encouraging environment.

Those interested in taking part will pay a £40 refundable deposit prior to the start of the camp as an incentive to commit to the full nine weeks.

The sessions are designed to be tough, but the training boxers will be put through will build up fitness and is essential for teaching the techniques they will need for their fight if they stay the course.
