Haverigg are on the brink of promotion back to the Premier Division of the Cumbria Cricket League after easing to a six-wicket victory against Lindal Moor 2nd XI last Saturday.

Lee Hogg (27) was the only player to reach double figures as Lindal were bowled out for just 50, with Tyler French taking four wickets at the expense of just two runs.

Hogg and Megan Smith then claimed two wickets apiece in Haverigg's reply but they were over the after just 15.1 overs, as they moved 13 points clear of Furness 2nd XI.

Furness travelled to Seascale with only eight players and, not surprisingly, were all out for 17, as Seascale's Steve Brown Jnr took 6-11 before the hosts won in three overs, despite the loss of Luke Birchall, by nine wickets.

Captain Callum Lucas took five wickets as Hawcoat Park comfortably defeated Ulverston by 84 runs.

Cameron McDougall top-scored with 50 before James Grimshaw (34 not out) and Jody Mills (26) added vital runs lower down the order as Hawcoat were bowled out for 188.

Paul Storey took a brilliant 6-54 for Ulverston, but they struggled in rely as they were bowled out for 104, with Lucas starring in claiming 5-22.

Kirkby were involved in another low-scoring nail-biter as they lost by 17 runs at home to Workington 2nd XI, who were all out for 116 thanks to 4-21 from Kirkby captain Mike Fugler.

However, despite a strong start from Rob Fugler (30) and Paul Fugler (28), the hosts were bowled out for 99 in response, thanks to 4-12 from Workington's Ryan Clubley.

Vickerstown were pushed nearer the drop by a 93-run home defeat against Cockermouth 2nd XI after they were skittled for 84 in reply to the visitors' 177.

In Division Two, Dalton 2nd XI beat champions Whitehaven 2nd XI by four wickets as Ryan Atkinson took 4-21 in the visitors' 57 all out.

Haverigg 2nd XI hammered Ulverston 2nd XI by 70 runs after the hosts were rolled out for only 40, in reply to 110.
