The first round of the CJS Cup takes place tonight with last season’s winners Dalton heading to Dragley Beck to face Ulverston A.

Ulverston are going through a rebuilding process, as they have six or seven regular lads unavailable and whoever turns up to make the team are sure to give it their best shot. League champions Dalton will be full of confidence and are expected to go into the next round

The other tie has Millom A travelling to Rating Lane to play Barrow Island A.

A young Millom side will be wanting to end their season on a high with a win but Barrow Island, who have come good of late with a couple of wins in the Barrow & District League could just have the edge with home advantage.

When the draw was made for the CJS Cup both Walney Central A and Askam A received byes and were drawn against each other in the semi-finals.

But due to Askam having to play three league matches in the National Conference League in ten days, they have conceded the tie, so Walney go straight through to the final without playing a game.

Once again, the Barrow & District League would like to thank CJS Cars’ Jimmy and Craig Salisbury for sponsoring this competition.

Tonight’s CJS Cup first-round fixtures (6:30pm kick-offs)

Barrow Island A v Millom A,

Ulverston A v Dalton.
