It was a bad weekend all round for our amateur rugby league teams, with all of them tasting defeat.

Askam travelled to Bradford Dudley Hill with 15 players, but put up a good show before going down 36-24 after trailing 18-4 at the break.

In the Third Division, Millom were thrashed 52-12 at Waterhead Warriors after trailing 26-0 at half-time and remain second-from-bottom.

Conner Terrill and Owen Myers crossed for tries with Lee Postlethwaite adding one goal.

In the Premier Division of the North West Men's League, Walney Central also took a hefty 52-10 defeat against leaders Ashton Bears at Central Drive. Brad Nicholls and Matty Elliott crossed for tries with one goal from the boot of Dave Nicholson.

In the First Division, Ulverston were on the wrong end of a 32-18 score-line at Hindley. Tries for the Dragley Beck side came via Tom Spedding, Matty Storey, Jack Akrigg and Kieron Potter with one conversion from Connor Saunders.

In Division Three, Eccleston Lions failed to send a team for their scheduled fixture with Roose Pioneers at Holbeck Park.
