Barrow Raiders will have to go into Sunday's home clash with York City Knights with a new-look pairing, with Lewis Charnock and Jamie Dallimore both unavailable as their season enters make-or-break territory.

Charnock fractured his jaw against Swinton Lions just over a week ago in what was his first appearance since completing an eight-game ban for a dangerous tackle on Sheffield Eagles' James Glover.

Dallimore will miss the game with suspension as he serves a one-match ban for punching Leigh's Gregg McNally in Barrow's previous home game.

Ben White, who impressed off the bench at Swinton, will be one of the men to step into the breach against York, as he'll come in for Charnock, with one of Jake Carter or Ryan Johnston set to come in for the influential Dallimore.

Head coach Paul Crarey said: "We've lost Dallimore and Lewis Charnock so the two young pivots will have to come in.

"I think Mossy [Nathan Mossop] needs a scan, so we'll have one young pivot on the bench and Ben, who had his best game for us at Swinton, I thought he was very good there.

"His composure and his kicking game was outstanding, he got us a try when he rode a tackle that allowed Alec Susino to get away on a short edge. He missed one tackle all game and he looked quality.

"We've got young Jake and we've got Ryan, who are going to be really good players for this club and they're going to have to step up in the these next few games themselves when given the opportunity.

"The only thing letting them two down is probably the defensive qualities and that's probably to do with them not being developed enough at this level, but they'll get that over the next few years."

The Raiders desperately need a victory if they are to close the three-point gap that separates them from third-from-bottom Widnes Vikings.
