Barrow fell to another heavy defeat in the Northern Premier League last Saturday as they were beaten by 100 runs by Fleetwood after a batting collapse.

After winning the toss and choosing to field, Barrow actually started reasonably well as Fleetwood’s Charlie Clark (10) and Keegan Armstrong (9) were dismissed cheaply.

However, opener Rana Singh stuck around to make 40 and he was backed up by 32 from Neels Bergh and 45 from Tom Wilson in the middle order as the hosts recovered to post 207-9 from their 50 overs.

Gary Collins starred with the ball for Barrow in taking 5-66, but the visitors’ reply turned out to be a torrid one, as only three batsmen reached double figures.

Opener Justin Pringle was run out for 33 and Jack Hill-Eades did well in making 39 as Barrow were bowled out for just 107 by the 34th over, with Bergh proving to be the pick of Fleetwood’s bowlers in taking 4-37.
