Tomorrow's pre-season friendly against League One side Blackpool at Holker Street is just the sort of test Barrow AFC need, according to defender Brad Barry.

The Bluebirds have already defeated one Football League team this week, after League Two Morecambe were seen off 2-0 after a much improved second half performance.

Ian Evatt's side had previously given a good account of themselves against Blackburn Rovers two weeks ago and Barry, who has impressed from right-back during his three pre-season outings, is looking forward to coming up against the Seasiders.

He said: "I feel like we need games against teams like that - they play in the League and that's where we want to be, so we want to play against them and making sure we're doing everything we can to play well."

The match will be notable for Barrow manager Evatt coming on for the final five minutes of it after managing against the club for whom he played in the Premier League for the first time.

Barry said: "I played with the gaffer before when I was at Chesterfield, so it will be nice. It will be good for him as well and I'm sure it will be a nice day for everybody."

Barry showed signs of forming an effective partnership down the right with the in-form Dior Angus against Morecambe and he believes the Bluebirds as a whole showed their true selves after the break in that game.

"It was much better," Barry said, adding: "We got the ball down and played like Barrow do, like we do in training.

"It's very enjoyable to watch and even to play in. It's what I came here to do and what we've been working on all through pre-season.

"It's a breath of fresh air playing in a team like this and it was nice to see us perform so well against a team from a higher league."
