Barrow AFC manager Ian Evatt is still hoping to sign a couple of players in on loan before the season starts, but he may have to wait until the end of the month before he can bring anyone in.

Monday's arrival of attacking midfielder Oliver Greaves on a season-long loan from Sheffield United took the amount of summer arrivals at Holker Street this summer up to seven.

Evatt will be hoping to have the same success in the loan market as he had with Greaves' fellow Blades Tyler Smith and Rhys Norrington-Davies and defender Kyle Jameson, who all impressed during their spells with AFC.

The Bluebirds are targeting bringing another centre-back in the weeks ahead as they put the finishing touches on their squad for the new campaign

He said: "We feel we are probably still one or two light, so we've earmarked who we want and the deals are more or less agreed.

"We've just got to be patient because the players are away with their respective first teams at the moment, so when they become available to us come the end of July, then we'll be able to get things sorted then."

One what Greaves can add to the side, Evatt said: "He's just got quality - we've seen it already, the flashes of brilliance at training.

"We get in the final third so often that a player like that could be the difference, whether that's unlocking the door with a pass or scoring a fantastic goal, so it's another string to our bow."
