We were brought down to earth a little on Sunday. We looked a little tired after our hectic schedule over the previous week and we put in a flat performance.

Toulouse were just too good for us and we didn't get much rub of the green from the 50/50 referee calls until late in the match when the game was gone.

We now need to regroup for probably our biggest game of the season at Dewsbury.

Their last-gasp defeat at York, after a recent dismal run, was probably a good thing for us as it will have provided extra focus that Dewsbury are no mugs.

With Paul Sykes and Liam Finn guiding the team around the park, we will have to be on top of our game to come away with the spoils.

More and more of our squad are returning to the fold and there were a few disappointed players at the weekend as we had to leave out some of the players who had played so well at either Featherstone or against Leigh.

I may have given a hint recently that there was another signing in the pipeline, but there isn't really anything imminent.

I have to keep a watchful eye on the finances and bringing someone in would need them to be better than what we currently have and of course the better players have cost implications.

It is not as though we are now needing bodies, however, and the victories over Halifax and Featherstone have proven to me that we have the personnel to survive.

Off the field, we continue to work hard and we are excited to have launched Raiders TV this week.

Initially, we are offering all the games from the 2019 season to view at your leisure with the games still to be played available 24 hours after the match finishes. For a cost of just £5 per month, we hope our fans support this venture.

With the uncertainty over the next Sky deal we need to be in a good place so that we can take advantage of any streaming opportunities.

We also hope to add a lot more content including archived games, interviews and some of our own produced shows that the whole of the local rugby community can get involved in.

With the TV channel comes commercial opportunities too and we may have untapped a valuable income stream

This Saturday, we have an 80s Music event as we continue to try to use our facilities as much as possible. Entry is through the Raiders Bar and we have a host of DJs who want to take you back in time.

Come on down, enjoy a beer in the sun and help Barrow Raiders at the same time.
