Fancy taking up football refereeing? The Furness Referees Society are making a big effort to try and boost numbers, which were on the rise last season, by setting up a junior section.
The society have set up a meeting at Hawcoat Park Social Club at 7pm tomorrow and they are hoping plenty of promising young whistlers from the Barrow & District Junior Football League will attend.
Vice president Joe Garner has reminded parents that they will be allowed to attend the meeting, which comes after a couple of aborted attempts.
The Furness Premier League have struggled to find enough officials in recent years, although they were able to get qualified referees in more of their games across the three divisions during the last campaign.
However, the Furness Referees Society is keen get even more newcomers involved and put them through the training course later in the summer.
