Barrow AFC have announced details of striker Jack Hindle’s new contract with the club after taking up an option on retaining his services for next season last month.

Hindle’s new deal will cover the 2019/20 campaign and has the option for an extra year, as the 25-year-old looks to build on a successful first year with the Bluebirds.

After signing from Colwyn Bay last summer, Hindle finished as AFC’s top scorer with 12 goals, with two of those coming on his debut against Havant & Waterlooville on the opening day of last season.

He also scored both goals in the 2-0 victory at Dover Athletic – the first away victory under manager Ian Evatt – as well as bagging the winner for an injury-hit Barrow at play-offs-bound Eastleigh in March.

Born in Warrington, Hindle is someone who has risen through the ranks in non-League football, having had two spells with Radcliffe Borough, either side of a stint with 1874 Northwich.

He went on to join Colwyn Bay in summer 2017 and he had a successful season in North Wales, scoring 13 goals and chipping in with 21 assists for the Northern Premier League side.

Hindle will face competition for his place next season, after the Bluebirds signed fellow strikers Morgan Penfold and Scott Quigley during the summer, as well as turning Dior Angus’ loan from Port Vale into a permanent transfer.
