Barrow AFC have just under three weeks until they find out their fixture list for the 2019/20 National League season.

Following last Saturday’s AGM, the league have revealed the fixtures will be released on the morning of Wednesday, July 3, three days before the Bluebirds play their first pre-season friendly of the summer, against Championship side Blackburn Rovers.

The campaign itself will kick off on August 3 and the last of the 46 matchdays taking place on April 25.

With AFC looking to make a real push for the play-offs next season, the second in charge for manager Ian Evatt, one notable date (and one they’ll hope to be part of) is the play-off final, which will happen at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, May 10 2020.

Barrow’s fixture list will, of course, include Aldershot Town, who were given a reprieve from relegation at the AGM after Gateshead were demoted to National League North for breaching financial regulations last season.

In the other competitions the Bluebirds will be competing in next season, the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup will be on October 19.

After last year’s disappointment at Chorley, they’ll be hoping to be in the draw this time around for the first round proper, which will take place on November 9.

In the FA Trophy, the first round is on December 14 and if AFC do go on a great run in that competition, the final penned in for Sunday, May 17 2020.

Not surprisingly, no National League side will have to travel further than Barrow next season, with their longest away trip remaining Dover Athletic, whose ground is 367 miles away from Holker Street, while journeys to Yeovil and Torquay in the South West also await.
