Dior Angus is one of three strikers to be signed by Barrow AFC during the summer so far and he's already familiar with the other two front men who have recently arrived at Holker Street.

The 25-year-old sealed a permanent deal with the Bluebirds on the same day they signed former Blackpool forward Scott Quigley on a three-year contract.

The previous week, Morgan Penfold had become AFC's first new face to come through the doors this summer, following the youngster's release from League One side Peterborough United.

Both players have had brief spells playing alongside Angus, thanks to both his EFL and non-League affiliations from last season.

Angus said: "I know them both, as Morgan came to Nuneaton during pre-season last year for about a week and then Quigs was at Port Vale, so it will be interesting.

"You need about four strikers in your squad, so hopefully we can all chip in with 20 goals over the season and get us promoted."

Angus will be especially keen to hit the ground running next season after a couple of ankle injuries prevented him from taking to the field for much of the final two months of the 2018/19 campaign.

His eagerness to come back led to a couple of setbacks, but manager Ian Evatt felt he had seen enough to keep him around.

"I think you always are looking forward to getting back for pre-season training," Angus said. "For about a week, you're glad for the rest but then it goes into a second week of doing nothing and then your holidays and that's when you're like 'I'm ready to be back.'

"For me, I think being injured and then watching Liverpool and Spurs come up with that madness in the Champions League earlier in the month, it gets you champing at the bit to get back."
