The Cumbria Seniors bowls team play their second match of the season against Yorkshire on Sunday.

After losing the first game versus North Lancashire and Fylde it is a must win for Cumbria if they want to progress in the competition. However, the Yorkshire team are a formidable force with big names spread across the squad.

Cumbria have picked the banker green of Lindal for the home leg hoping to build a big lead as they battle to cause an upset.

There are some cracking games in prospect at Pennington Lane with Barry Lowden taking on Thomas Hanson, Mark Johnson versus James Davison and Liam Howard playing the All England Champion Chris Mordue.

Chris' son Josh is also playing, having had two unsuccessful visits to the area in recent weeks and Graham Rigg will be hoping he can make it three.

The away leg is being played at Rastrick Bowling Club in Yorkshire, where the home team have called on some of the biggest names in bowls, with the likes of Graeme Wilson, Scott Fisher, Gary Siswick, Jack Dyson, Robert Hitchen and Ashley Daykin all being in attendance.

There are also places available on the coach for the trip to Yorkshire if you wish to sample the atmosphere of an away day. The cost is just £10 and this includes tea after the game. Contact Darren Naylor for further details.
