Barrow AFC now have a complete schedule of pre-season friendlies for the summer after announcing they will be facing a Furness Select XI at Holker Street.

The match will be played on Tuesday, July 9 with a 7:45pm kick-off and will be the second of seven friendlies the Bluebirds will play in preparation for the 2019/20 National League campaign.

Their opponents will be made up of the best players the Furness area has to offer and proceeds from the game will be split between the Barrow & Districy Junior Football League and the Barrow AFC Community Trust.

Last years friendly against the Furness Select is unfortunately remembered for striker Jacob Blyth, who left Barrow earlier in the month, dislocating his shoulder in what was his first game for the club.

The Bluebirds will also be facing EFL sides Blackburn Rovers, Morecambe and Blackpool, fellow non-League clubs Workington and Lancaster City, as well as Sheffield United's under-23 team during pre-season.
